St. Maarten Heineken Regatta: Competition and Fun at the same time

With the entry list coming to the two-hundred mark, organizers have stated that the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta would have a grand range of players. The scratch sheet said a few things about Caribbean sailing and contest is ensured to be one for the books.
At this point of time, there are hundred-seventy-one entries in total that include the biggest Mulithull fleet in the area. Classes include Former Volvo/Whitbread, Maxi, CSA Monohull, Bareboat, Multihull, Beach Cat as well as Lottery. The thirty-sixth edition will take place from 4th to 6th March.
For yachting cognoscenti who relish the sleek lines of the Swans as well as the Bruce Farr designs, they would certainly not be frustrated. With ten entries till now in Maxi class, competitors and spectators alike would have a lot admire out on the water. Supposition is that the contest would most likely be to the fullest in the cruiser part of the class with Swan 100 Varsovie, Shipman 80 Paula R, Swan 82 Ptarmigan, Bordeaux 60 Zampano and a Pendennis 77 Ocean Phoenix in the squad.

Royal Langkawi International Regatta 2016 preview

The organizers of the fourteenth Royal Langkawi International Regatta to take place next year are all set to welcome their day to day favorites along with several newcomers who have registered to participate from 11th to 16th Jan, 2016. Since the start of the registration process, the 14th edition next year has got twenty-three entries, of which six are brand new entries, sixteen are regulars and one is coming back to Langkawi waters following a very long hiatus from the meet.

Team Ulumulu will return after it was away from Royal Langkawi International Regatta for almost ten years. Their captain, Jeremy Koo, has raced with a few other teams but he would be looking to take the top spot in his own vessel along with MataHari, Phoenix, Uranus, Jelik, and Oi! in IRC Racing Class.

In the meet, making their debut are the IRC class include Black Baza, Foreign Affair and The Blue Angel, fresh from being used as a Rental yacht in Croatia!? Other newcomers are Millennium 2, Allegro and Viva Layla. The racers in the Platu 25 Sports Boats class include Malaysian Sailing Association, Royal Malaysian Navy, Phuket Sailing Club, Singapore Management University (SMU), Team Sharenliza and Royal Queensland Yachting Squadron (RQYS).

Wicky Sundram, the Executive Director of The Royal Langkawi Yacht Club, said that this is a great honor that the event favorites keeps returning, and they attract new entries year after year. Their regatta keeps getting more popularity among some of the best sailors in the world and he believe that the newly-built marina as well as clubhouse facilities would serve to enhance their experience here even more.
